The unit's speakers ca n be disconnected from the player, and the speaker cord allows each of them to be placed about six feet from the player so you can really enjoy stereo sound. The cassette player will record from either the CD player or the radio, so the unit allows you to create your own music mixes on blank cassettes. The remote control is a nice addition, but the remote does not have the ability to control the cassette tape player. It also has an equalizer button that allows you to choose different tone levels (for the type of music you are listening to). Unlike many current portable sound systems it does not have excessive bass tones, although it does have a bass booster button if you would like to add a little more bottom end to your tunes. It DOES have sound that is even better than I expected.
It does not compare with an expensive in-home sound system, but I did not expect it to. This is a portable sound system that has great sound. Excellent portable sound system with great features
